Wentz Art Stamps were produced by the Wentz Printing Company located in New York and Germany beginning 1914. These stamps were created to collect, as you'll see they have no denomination and cannot be used in the mail. The Wentz Film Star and other such non-postal stamps are grouped under the larger collector's heading of Poster Stamps.
Wentz issued sets of stamps with albums for four Universal serials in 1914-1915: The Master Key (1914), The Goddess (1915), The Black Box (1915), and The Broken Coin (1915).
The Wentz stamps shown on this page are from a mixed set displaying film stars from different companies of the period. Stamps were issued in blocks of six grouped by film company. The album shown is one of at least three different issued.
