It’s Fay Wray Day today on TCM! Twenty-four hours of Fay Wray Summer Under the Stars programming begins at 6:00 am ET with The Unholy Garden (1931).

This is one of my two or three most anticipated days on TCM this month, both because of the classics I love and a couple I’ve been dying to see. I’m most excited to see Josef von Sternberg’s Thunderbolt (1929) for the first time later tonight, though I’m also looking forward to upgrading my glitchy copy of strange underwater action-drama Below the Sea (1933).

I had planned on posting a review of Wray’s 1990 autobiography On the Other Hand today, but I have another couple days of reading to do before I start to put that together. It’s actually a re-read for me, so if you had any doubts, without getting into specifics yet, I give it a high recommendation. Look for my review soon, though not necessarily next.

Today’s TCM US schedule follows and under that you’ll find one vintage newspaper advertisement for each of the sixteen(!) movies on today’s schedule. Also included are a few old movie card images to add some splashes of color and clarity to the otherwise black and white page Enjoy!
