1938 International Tobacco Summit Screen Lovers Tobacco Cards

About these Cards

Kay Francis and George Brent Summit Screen Lovers Card1938 date in title is educated guess based upon the movies named in text on back of cards.

Produced by the International Tobacco Co. for intended use with their Summit brand tobacco products.

* Due to World War II and paper shortages these cards were printed but never made it into circulation.

48 card set from Great Britain.

Each card measures approximately 1-1/2″ X 2-1/2″.

Color portraits on front picturing pairs of movie “screen lovers.”

Rarely seen but since they were never distributed when intended you can expect to see them in nice condition when you do come across them. (The batch I used in creating the gallery were NM or better).

Similar in appearance and same size as the more common Gallaher sets of the period.

Key pairings include Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O’Sullivan, William Powell and Myrna Loy, Loy again with Spencer Tracy, Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy, as well as cards featuring Bette Davis, Joan Crawford (2), Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, James Cagney and Errol Flynn with various romantic screen partners.
