About these Cards
No information on back to help identify these cards.
Each card measures approximately 2-3/8" wide X 3 inches tall. On a thick card stock.
Beautiful silver borders with same silver over entire back.
Somewhat crude but very colorful illustrated images on front of each movie star. Perhaps the Kay Francis card helps provide a clue to the origins of these cards as the image appears to match the image used on the March 1937 cover of Silver Screen magazine. That magazine cover was illustrated by Marland Stone.
While I don't know if Marland Stone and/or Silver Screen have anything to do with the other cards in this set (Hmm, silver borders, Silver Screen?), that magazine does help confirm my originally supposed date of 1936-1937. The inclusion of Robert Taylor and Luise Rainer, who both rose to stardom in 1936, led me to that date before noticing the Kay Francis magazine cover.
Please do email if you have a more concrete idea of the origin of these cards or have any additional images from this same set that you'd like to donate.
