About the Opera House Movie Theater Schedule Cards
These are kind of neat because they're not theater fliers or programs but schedules for the Bath Opera House Movie Theater issued on a two-sided card stock. Each card measures approximately 2-3/4" X 4-11/16" with cards beginning late 1940 (with The Bank Dick) measuring slightly taller.
The Opera House in Bath, Maine opened in 1907 and operated through at least 1956. It was located at 68 Center Street in Bath, which appears to be home to a restaurant today.
This collection of Opera House Schedule Cards offer a fascinating glimpse of movie history at this particular time, 1938-41, with an emphasis on 1940-41.
The following gallery shows both sides of each weekly Opera House schedule card. They have been arranged in chronological order so you can see the order that the films played at the Bath Opera House.
