About 1936 BAT Modern Beauties Tobacco Cards, Series 2
Second series of 36 Extra-Large 2-5/8" X 3-3/4 inch tobacco cards.
Real photo cards issued by the British American Tobacco Co. Ltd. (B.A.T.).
From England.
All actresses including several recognizable names and just as many who would only appear in a film or two.
Highlights include Claire Trevor, Olympian Eleanor Holm, Patricia Ellis, Jean Arthur, Mary Astor, Leila Hyams, Cecilia Parker, Pert Kelton, Frances Drake, Madge Evans and Paulette Goddard.
While the Series 1 Modern Beauties cards I had included some color-toned variations, the Series 2 grouping included what appears to be both a black and white and slightly sepia toned version of one of the cards. Both examples of card #7 Hazel Forbes, follow below:
