About the 1935 Lloyd Cinema Stars Tobacco Cards, 2nd Series

Second of three 27 card series issued by Richard Lloyd & Sons out of Liverpool and London, England.

This second series is the most common of those three series.

High gloss fronts; descriptive text on back (There is also a Lloyd's set separate from the three main series which has a matte finish).

Both Murray's Guide and Troy Kirk's site list a 1935 date on this series, though all of the films named on back are from two or three years earlier.

The 27 card set is divided by the sexes: Cards #28-40 show actors; 41-54 depict actresses. The odd number is made up by a second card of Norma Shearer.

Key cards include Jean Harlow, Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Clark Gable and Clara Bow. Tom Keene is shown in a cowboy pose.
