Lilyan Tashman pictured on a 5" X 7" movie star fan photo from the late-1920s. This are the type of photo the period fan would receive back in the mail when writing their favorite star in care of the movie studios.
My favorite Tashman role is probably her over-the-top wicked vampire-lady of Murder by the Clock (1931), though she's much more cast to type as a gold-digging wiseacre in Millie (1931).
I was going to attempt a biographical post about Tashman a couple of years back, but put it off after reading this amazing post by Karen at Shadows and Satin. When I need Tashman info, I just click over there now.
Thank you so much for this lovely mention of my post, Cliff! I LOVE this photo of Miss Tashman. I am printing it out right now!!
You’re so welcome, Karen. I’m pretty sure I’ve told you before how much I enjoyed that one. Great work!
