I just posted my first movie article in quite awhile over at Warren-William.com. This one looks at Warren William’s detective debut as Philo Vance in The Dragon Murder Case (1934). I compare and contrast William’s Vance with that of William Powell in the preceding film in the series, The Kennel Murder Case (1933) as well as give a spoiler-free look at the mystery of The Dragon Murder Case.

TCM Warren William Alerts!

I’d been working on The Dragon Murder Case for awhile determined to post it prior to Turner Classic Movies airing the film which they do this coming Saturday morning, September 17, at 9:30 am EST. It hasn’t aired on TCM in a long time so don’t miss it!

Earlier that same Saturday morning TCM is showing my favorite of all the Warren William pre-code classics, Employees’ Entrance (1933). I liked this one so much that I wrote about it twice, here on Immortal Ephemera and with a focus on the William character at Warren-William.com.

Employees’ Entrance airs at 6 am EST on TCM, Saturday morning, September 17.

Postcard Auctions

And since this post seems to be the spot to deliver news and notes I want to point you over to my eBay auctions where beginning tonight, Thursday the 15th, the first of three nights of vintage real photo postcard auctions begin ending. Over 90 postcards ending at auction divided amongst this Thursday, Friday and Sunday evenings. These are the same postcards I recently posted a gallery of on this site. You can see all of my eBay auctions here or view a sampling of the RPPC listings directly below.
